ALABA DUMPS LIVERPOOL FOR REAL MADRID SUMMER MOVE
According to several reports, Bayern Munich defender David Alaba has agreed a deal in principle to join Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid in the summer, ending rumors of a possible move to English Premier League heavyweights Liverpool. The Austrian international defender is set to lift the German Bundesliga title with Bayern Munich for the last time, with the club needing just one league win to do so.
If he ends up winning another Bundesliga title with Bayern, which is already almost certain, it will be the ninth-straight one the club would be winning. The 28-year-old made his intentions known to the Bayern Munich board that he was interested in getting a pay rise at the club but their adamance in bending to his demands meant that there was not going to be an agreement between the two parties.
Since the news broke out, he has been linked to a couple of clubs across Europe, including Premier League Champions Liverpool. The Reds were thought to be in the best position to sign the Austrian star where he could have linked up with former teammate Thiago, but it looks like he is headed for Real Madrid.
According to those reports, he already has a five-year agreement in place with the Madrid-based club and is eligible to join them once the season ends, alongside his current contract.
