KAGAWA CONVINCED ME TO JOIN LIVERPOOL

Liverpool winter signing Takumi Minamino has identified the influence of former Manchester United midfielder Shinji Kagawa in his decision to make the move to Liverpool. Minamino joined Liverpool from Salzburg in January for £7 million after a series of impressive displays with the Austrian club.


Minamino, 25, spent four years with RB Salzburg before joining the Reds in January. He is still in the process of adaptation to his new club and he has made four appearances for the Reds so far.

Liverpool legend urges Manchester United to sign Spanish striker

Liverpool legend Steve Nicol has said that it won’t be a bad idea for Manchester United to pursue the services of Fernando Llorente on a free transfer. The Spain international is out of contract following his release from Tottenham Hotspur last month and he is understood to be eager to join the Red Devils.

Speaking on ESPN FC, Nicol stressed that the Red Devils have just one recognised centre-forward in the form of Marcus Rashford, who suits the manager’s attacking style of play. However, he added that a change in the system may be necessary on occasions and they may need someone of Llorente’s calibre.

Former Liverpool striker Peter Crouch believes that Liverpool can win the title this season. He said that the team is in a good position in the league and that their fate is in their own hands. He said that the Anfield side has been really consistent so far and that they only have to continue what they are doing if they want to be champions.

He believes that Jurgen Klopp has made a great job with the team and that the players have successfully adapted to the way he wants them to play. He said that he has also made some good signings that have allowed Liverpool to become strong in some areas where they were previously weak.

Klopp refused to say anything on referee’s decisions

Jurgen Klopp admitted that he did not agree to a couple of decisions that was made by the referee in the all-important European clash where his team took on Paris Saint-Germain and ended up on the losing side.

There were a couple of occasions in the game when eyebrows were raised at the referee’s call. First when he didn’t award the Reds a penalty towards the end of the first half when a foul was made by PSG in Liverpool’s box and then on another occasion, Marco Verratti was not shown the red card when a lot of people thought that his challenge was worthy of a red card and not a yellow which the referee showed. These two decisions, if they had gone Liverpool’s way, might have changed the entire complexion of the game, but it wasn’t the case to be.

Christian Pulisic has been informed to snub Liverpool and also stay at Borussia Dortmund this season by Steve Nicol. The Reds have basically tried to be very active in this transfer window, but rumors also suggest that they are not finished with this.

Xherdan Shaqiri, Fabinho, Alisson and even Naby Keita have all been arriving for around Euro 170m. Jurgen Klopp has thereby made Premier League his priority during this season and will also aim to wrestle control from Manchester City. Pep Guardiola’s men had walked the league in the last season. Mane appeal failed

Sadio Mane appeal for his red card has been rejected by the Football Association (FA), and the player would miss three games.


The Liverpool forward was sent off in the match against Manchester City after he kicked Ederson in the face.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said that he is not disappointed as he was sure that the appeal would be rejected by the FA and for him, it was just a waste of time.

Liverpool said that the foul was not intentional and that there was no malice in the way Mane kicked the keeper. However, the FA rejected the appeal and said that the ban has been reviewed by an independent committee and that the player will have to miss three games in total. Read more
